John T. Barga
John began his professional career in 1976 as the first full-time criminal prosecutor for the City of Tiffin, Ohio. His duties in that office included actively prosecuting traffic cases, criminal misdemeanors and felony preliminary hearings.
In 1978, John began a diverse civil practice, which now focuses on business organizations, commercial law, and general trial practice. He currently represents a large number of businesses, professionals, and individuals, helping them resolve problems and plan for the future. His extensive litigation and business experience is a valuable asset for his clients as they face today’s challenges and continue to grow and expand their opportunities.
John is admitted in all courts in Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
John served in the United States Air Force from 1967 to 1970. He is a member of the Seneca County Bar Association and Ohio State Bar Association.
In his community, John has served as a board member for the Seneca County School of Opportunity, the Tiffin Seneca United Way, the Tiffin YMCA, the Tiffin Historic Trust, and Sisters in Shelter. He has also served as a Lay Advisory Board Member for Mercy Tiffin Hospital and was a founding board member of SIEDC, the Tiffin Teen Center, and the Tiffin Dev. Corporation.
John received his B.A. at The Ohio State University, College of Social Sciences, Columbus, Ohio in 1972 and he graduated from the University of Toledo, College of Law, J.D. Toledo, Ohio in 1976.
