JC Elgin

Attorney JC Elgin leads the firm’s Florida operations. In 2024, this Ohio Northern Polar Bear traded the bitter cold for the mild subtropical climate of the Sunshine State. Attorney Elgin focuses his practice on probate, estate planning, taxation, and nonprofit law. He has personally served as guardian, payee, and fiduciary for over fifty individuals. Attorney Elgin represents guardian applicants, estate fiduciaries, and alleged incapacitated individuals in probate proceedings. Attorney Elgin previously served as counsel for Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo’s Adult Advocacy Program, Mid-Ohio Guardianship Services, and Richland County Adult Protective Services.

Attorney Elgin knows first hand the challenges of managing another person’s affairs after death or incapacity. These experiences inspire him to ensure everyone has a comprehensive plan in place. He helps individuals from millworkers to multimillionaires secure their family legacy, plan for incapacity, and protect their future through creative and effective planning strategies.

Attorney Elgin is admitted to the practice of law in Ohio and Florida, the United States District Courts for Northern Ohio, Southern Ohio, Middle Florida, and Southern Florida, and the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C.

As an alumnus of THE Ohio State University, he bleeds scarlet and gray for OSU Football and Basketball. Other causes important to him include the YMCA, protection of vulnerable adults, protection of Florida’s everglades and indigenous wildlife, and support for public media.
